Local braider and educator Nat, owner of Dolce Lisa Braiding Boutique in Aura, is helping Sunshine Coast mums turn everyday hair routines into moments of connection.
Her Learn to Braid Workshops, held at the new Caloundra City Library, give mums and daughters the chance to slow down, have fun together, and learn a practical skill that makes school mornings, dance days, and family events so much easier.
“I wanted to create something simple and meaningful,” says Nat. “It’s not just about hair — it’s about spending time together, building confidence, and learning a skill you can use for years.”
The small-group sessions are designed for complete beginners, using step-by-step guidance and easy techniques to create classic Dutch and French braids, along with a few quick everyday styles. Each participant also receives a booklet with braiding tips and inspiration.
